Daredevil seen sitting on moving ship's bulbous bow
This is the nerve-wracking moment a daredevil was seen sitting on the bulbous bow of a moving ship.
Seaman Rolixboy Nillas spotted the man wearing a rash guard resting on the bow of the cargo ship Steve Albert at Matnog Port in Sorsogon, the Philippines.
Footage shows the sea nomad and his two friends in front of the vessel as it moved slowly towards the pier on January 20.
Moments later, he carefully climbed down from the bow and swam away with the youngsters.
Rolixboy said: 'I was surprised. Usually, it's sea lions I see hitching a ride and resting on the bulbous bow, but now it's a human. I've only recently started working the Matnog route, so seeing something like this isn't normal to me.
'However, sailors who have worked here a long time say it's a 'normal' sight because they are sea nomads.'
The Badjaos are an indigenous ethnic group known as Sea Gypsies or Sea Nomads originating from the Sulu Archipelago in the Philippines, as well as parts of Malaysia and Indonesia. Traditionally, they live on houseboats or stilt houses and rely on fishing, diving, and pearl hunting for their livelihood.
