Footage has emerged from China of the aftermath of a powerful tornado that tore through seven villages, injuring at least nine people.

The video, filmed in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province on July 2, shows more than a hundred houses, greenhouses, trees and power lines completely leveled by the storm.

Nine people were reportedly injured, with rescue work ongoing.

The aftermath video, filmed in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province on July 2, shows more than 110 residential houses, greenhouses, trees and high-voltage power lines being damaged or collapsing.

Nine people in the whole city had minor injuries, but no one was killed.

Rescue work was underway.
