A self-styled "nutty professor" dad from Australia made a cool ride for his children recently using an old mobility scooter.

Science teacher Jacob Strickling dismantled the scooter, removed the motor and then used wooden beams and the seats from some old chairs to fashion the rotating ride.

The finished product was a definite hit with Strickling's children, Samuel and Mikalah.

Strickling, who runs the YouTube channel 'Make Science Fun', often builds toys and equipment for his children to use around their property in Terrigal, Australia.

Using an old discarded mobility scooter he builds a fun rotating double chair ride for his children.
Strickling then adds supports and a long timber beam. Plastic chairs are screwed to the beam and then the 'ride' is made secure by hammering tent pegs into the ground.
The first attempt was a bit of a failure as the uneven weight of one child sitting on it broke the poorly constructed ride. Some hasty repairs made it strong enough to use.
Two of Strickling's children, Mikalah and Samuel then have a fun time playing on the ride.
Samuel was overheard saying 'This is the best ride ever!' As it was a hot day in Terrigal, we even got the water hose out to make the ride even more fun.
