A cooking gas cylinder kept in a small restaurant hotel in Mandi north India caught fire on April 5.

The restaurant staff managed to drag the burning cylinder to the road. They then tried to pour water to put out the fire, along with the neighbours.

But the cylinder continued to burn making the men apprehensive that it may go off like a bomb anytime.

The nerve-wracking tension continued till a neighbour ran out of his shop with a fire extinguisher and sprayed it on the cylinder putting out the fire.

The local fire brigade was also informed. But the fire had been extinguished before they could arrive.

A woman in the neighbourhood shared a video of the incident with the fire brigade officials.

“The men battled the fire bravely. But they got it all wrong. We will show them how to put out the fire if a gas cylinder catches fire,” said an official.
