Dashcam captures the moment an Indonesian police officer uses a mobile phone while driving his official car.

This moment happened on an alternative road in Agam district, West Sumatra, Indonesia on June 3, 2019.

The police were allegedly in an emergency to receive a telephone call because they were ordered by their superiors to unravel the traffic jams on the main road in Bukittinggi-Payakumbuh which were jammed before the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Meanwhile, in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, drivers who use cellphones can interfere with driving concentration and potentially cause traffic accidents.

Drivers who violate can be ticketed by Traffic Police with the threat of a maximum penalty of 750,000 Rupiah (42 GBP) and 3 months imprisonment.
