A Chinese man inserted his mobile phone into a cash box on a bus after attempting to use mobile payment in China.

The CCTV video, filmed in Guangzhou city in Guangdong province on August 26, shows a man with earphones in trying to find the payment code for the driver to scan.

However, he was then seen inserting his smartphone into the cash box and then dropping it in.

According to reports, the man could not find the QR code to scan to pay for the bus ticket and he could not hear the driver's instructions clearly as he was wearing earphones. So he inserted his phone into the coin box as he thought he could scan the code there.

The man said he normally took trains so he was not familiar with the location of the payment code on a bus.

Finally, the workers helped the man find his phone at the head office and returned it back to him.
