Two motorists fell into a huge sinkhole that opened up beneath them while driving along a road in southern China.

The dashcam video, shot in the city of Xiamen in Fujian Province shortly before 10pm on December 12, shows the road suddenly giving way and swallowing two cars.

According to reports, the two drivers were able to climb out of the sinkhole and there were no casualties.

A broken water pipe caused the collapse, according to a preliminary judgment. A nearby metro station was flooded.

根据现场视频，事发突然，没有任何征兆，路过的两辆车辆跌入坑中，其中一辆白色小车随路面整体陷入坑中，事发后，车内人员自行爬出坑外。

目前交警已在现场指挥交通，消防等部门也已赶到现场抢险。据现场目击者介绍，事发地点在吕厝路和嘉禾路交界处，此处离厦门地铁2号线吕厝站比较近。
据厦门市应急管理局消息：此次地陷初步判断是水管破裂，冲刷地下泥土导致。具体原因，还需进一步调查核实。
