Ice dragon boat race kicks off in northern China
12月29日，辽宁省首届全民冰雪运动会暨锦州市首届全民冰雪运动会在锦州拉开赛幕。来自全国的18支冰上龙舟代表队参加活动。
冬日锦州小凌河冰面，演绎着速度与激情、破冰游弋的冰雪运动新时尚。经过激烈的角逐，锦州龙舟协会将代表辽宁参加第十四届全国冬季运动会冰上龙舟全部项目角逐。
一艘龙舟大约155公斤重，上面有龙头、龙尾，鼓和舵，舟底有两组冰刀式的雪橇座，船舵和船舵刹车，以及船舵的转向装置。12人的冰上龙舟，需要10名划手，一名鼓手，一名舵手。今天比赛场地冰面厚度大约有40厘米，完全可以保障比赛安全。
此次全民冰雪运动会是锦州市冬季冰雪旅游运动季十大系列活动之一，运动会内容丰富，在“锦绣之舟”全国冰上龙舟邀请赛火热进行的同时，冰蹴球、小飞龙、小飞侠等冰雪运动项目体验嗨翻冰面，冬泳、速滑等群众冰雪运动体验项目燃爆冬日。
