An immigration Official, who was not allowed to give his name, and soldiers from the Mexican National Guard man a checkpoint roadblock, in the road that connects Comitan de Dominguez and San Cristobal de las Casas, in Chiapas, Mexico. In Mexico, the National Institute of Migration (Instituto Nacional de Migracion = INM) and the Army's National Guard install roadblocks and checkpoints to enforce an iron clad curtain to deter and stop illegal immigration from Central America and other countries from around the World, into this North American country. The soldiers were providing muscle to the unarmed, white polo-shirted Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) officers who were searching random mini-buses, cars, and commercial trucks for migrants trying to sneak past to the American border. In one stop, the INM officer in charge of this inspection check point, who was not authorized to give his name, climbed aboard a minibus and emerged with two Guatemalans, who admitted to having no papers, no passport or permits to be or transit in Mexican territory. They were detained and deported back to Guatemala.
