Dozens attended the funeral of Dr Anwah Nagia in Cape Town, South Africa on Tuesday (September 29).

The funeral took place at the District Six mosque in Cape Town. He died as a result of COVID-19 complications at the age of 61.

Dr Nagia was well-known businessman, philanthropist and community activist. He was most well-known as the chairman of the District Six Beneficiary Trust. District Six was one of the communities that is known worldwide as being one of the sites of forced removals and evictions by the apartheid government.

Dr Nagia also founded and chaired the Palestine Museum in Cape Town.
