Hundreds of activists dressed as zombies protest against 'apartheid-style' housing policies in Cape Town.

The groups carried effigies of Mayor Dan Plato, Alderman JP Smith, Deputy Mayor Ian Neilson and former apartheid State President PW Botha.

They also carried a coffin emblazoned with the National Party logo. The National Party was the ruling party of South Africa from 1948 to 1994 and legislated apartheid as a government policy.

Performing artists group “Yes Men” and the Reclaim The City housing activist group marched from the Old Methodist Church in the Cape Town CBD to the Cape Town Civic Centre. The groups marched to highlight issues around housing which they allege is exclusionary and perpetuates apartheid style housing policies on an economic basis.
