A group of pensioners used homemade devices to collect coins scattered from a hearse in central China.

The bizarre video, shot in the city of Kaifeng in Henan Province on October 31, shows around 10 elderly people running after a hearse and using their homemade devices, magnets attached to sticks, to collect coins thrown onto the road.

According to reports, it is a traditional custom that dead people's relatives scatter coins out from hearse.

They can collect around three yuan (£0.35) per person a day.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
