Brave villagers rescued a three-year-old girl after she accidentally fell into a water well in eastern China.

In the video, shot in the city of Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province on November 1, a girl can be seen playing with a dog while on a video phone call with her parents, before tripping over by a water well and falling in.

An 84-year-old villager named Li Caihua about to get some water from the well spotted the girl and shouted for help.

A group of villagers having a meeting in a nearby building heard Li and ran to the site to save the girl.

According to reports, a slim villager jumped into the water well to lift the girl up and other people helped bring the girl back to safety together.

To avoid the incident happening again, the village community decided to install guardrails with locks and a warning sign.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
