Two brave villagers saved a mother and her two children from drowning after their car plunged into a river in southern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Shantou in Guangdong Province on December 3.

A woman, driving with her two children, accidentally plunged her car into a river. The cries for help and wails of distress quickly caught the attention of a heroic duo, an elderly man and a young villager, who bravely leapt into the water without a second thought.

Battling against the current, they reached the sinking vehicle and, with great effort, successfully saved the mother and her two children from the clutches of the river.
