A good Samaritan in Cape Town's notorious Cape Flats has started a foundation that feeds dozens of locals whose lives have been ravaged by local gang violence and poverty.

Footage from December 24 shows Claudine Coleridge working away in the kitchen as a large queue of locals stand outside the premises in the area of Leonsdale.

Since the start of the pandemic, more than 2.5 million South Africans have lost their jobs, adding to the country's already high unemployment rate.

This has resulted in an increased demand for community feeding schemes.

Coleridge has tasked her family and friends to meet the demands of various communities in need of her support.

She intends growing her feeding scheme and has appealed to private and government donors to fund her foundation, the Jemima Coleridge Foundation, which has been named after her later grandmother.
