Firefighters rescue children trapped in mire near river in southern China
Firefighters rescued children who were trapped in a quagmire in southern China.
In the video filmed in Sichuan, a little girl was trapped in the boggy patch after entering the river bed of Guanyin Lake.
She had one leg stuck in the mud and the more she struggled, the deeper she would sink.
After nearly 10 minutes of intense rescue, the little girl was successfully rescued. Two more young boys were trapped in a nearby river bed and the mud had already one of their chests.
The Suining Fire Rescue Detachment used foam pads to approach them step by step. When they reached their side, they surrounded them with foam pads to form a platform for firefighters to operate.
The video was filmed on December 26 and provided by local media.
