Firefighters in southern China used a remote-controlled lifebuoy to save a woman from drowning in a river in southern China.

In the video, a woman allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the river from Huazhou Bridge in Long'an County. When rescuers from the Diecheng Fire and Rescue Station arrived, they found that the young woman was floating in the distance.

The current was fast and the river was cold. The woman was unable to swim back to the shore. The firefighters immediately threw the remote-controlled lifebuoy into the water, and through remote operation, a few seconds later the lifebuoy accurately reached the woman.

The woman held the lifebuoy tightly as it propelled her towards to shore.

The video was filmed on December 28 and provided by local media.
