A dramatic video has emerged from China of fire fighters rescuing a construction worker after the excavator he was driving was crushed under a huge boulder.

In the footage, captured during the five hour rescue at a quarry site in Zhejiang Province earlier this month, firemen can be seen using two other excavators to roll the 50 tonne rock off the cab.

According to local news reports, the 24-year-old driver Mr Xiao – who survived the near-death experience - was immediately sent to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries to his lower body.
