Passengers gasped as floodwater began entering their shuttle bus as the vehicle attempted to drive through a submerged street in Chelmsford, UK.

A passenger captured the moment the water first started streaming into the vehicle that later became stuck in the floodwater on October 5.

The filmer told Newsflare: "A shuttle bus attempts to cross water fording 4.5 foot over a river bridge, another abandoned van is blocking the exit.

"After noticing this, the bus cut out and began to float crashing through a barrier on the bridge and gets caught just before a 4-foot drop.

"We waited two hours standing on our seats in knee-deep water before a raft arrived from Colchester fire department to rescue us.

"Chelmsford fire department arrived on the scene less than 10 mins after another student called it in but had no way of reaching us."
