Motorists drove through a flooded road after torrential rain in Indonesia.

Cars powered through the waterlogged road following heavy rains in the Sintang Regency of West Kalimantan province on November 12.

Footage shows the drivers wading through the deluge, with the high water nearly engulfing their vehicles.

Resident Iqbal Birnadi said: 'There is no other way. We have to cross the road even if it is submerged in water.

'This flood has been going on for a week. We have grown used to crossing roads despite the poor infrastructure being flooded.'

He added that the water has yet to recede as rain continues to pound the region.

Many of the under-developed nations struggle to cope with the heavy rain due to under-investment infrastructure.
