A firefighter was seen crawling along the surface of a frozen lake in Brest, Belarus, to rescue puppies that had been abandoned in a bag.

Footage from February 16 shows the team of Artem Golovach, firemen Nikita Staroselets and Mikayel Arakelyan, as well as driver Yevhen Zhadinets working together to rescue the abandoned puppies.

Upon arrival, they spotted the bag about 7 metres from the shore and immediately sprung into action.

One firefighter managed to grab and bag and was then pulled back to shore.

At the end of the clip, the bag is opened and inside is several tiny puppies. They were handed over to a wildlife service.

In Brest, in the area of the Red Court, there was a bag with puppies on the ice.

Employees of the fire department No. 3 of the Brest City Department for Emergency Situations immediately left for the place of the call: the head of the guard Artem Golovach, firemen Nikita Staroselets and Mikayel Arakelyan, as well as driver Yevhen Zhadinets. Upon arrival, the bag was on the ice surface of the lake, 5-7 meters from the shore.

Rescuers took out the puppies and handed them over to the service for capturing wild animals.
