Several injured as cable cars collide in eastern India

Several people, including women, sustained injuries after some cable cars on a ropeway collided with each other in eastern India's Jharkhand.

The accident took place on April 10 at Trikut hills, close to Baba Baidyanath Temple, in Deoghar district.

Visuals shot on April 11 show the helicopter winching a woman from the cable car.

Meanwhile, three people, including two women have died, while thirty injured are undergoing treatment at the Deoghar Sadar Hospital.

Prima facie reports said that the incident might have occurred due to a technical snag. The exact cause is yet to be ascertained.

A team of Army, ITBP, and NDRF conducted the rescue operation, which is ongoing.

According to reports, more than 35 people have been rescued and 10 more persons will be rescued by tomorrow, April 12, morning. The ropeway manager and other employees fled the spot after the accident.
