Locals in Paktika, Afghanistan, assessed the damage caused by an earthquake that shook the province leaving 1,000 dead and 1,500 injured.

Footage from June 22 shared by the province's health officer Hekmatullah Esmath shows dozens of buildings in the Gayan district ravaged by the quake.

Mohammad Amin Hazifi, head of information for the province, stated that 1,000 people were killed and 1,500 injured.
