A river turned red after a villager accidentally dropped dye into it in southwest China.

The video was filmed in the city of Zunyi in Guizhou Province on July 19.

According to local officials, a villager accidentally dropped the dye used for decoration into the river causing the water to turn red. The dye has been cleared up already.

The water in the river is mainly used to irrigate so the villagers' drinking water was not affected.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
