A calf was rescued after spending two days trapped in a newly built septic tank in Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu.

The calf was found after a group of children playing nearby heard the animal's continuous mooing. The kids informed their parents who then alerted a fire and rescue team.

Upon arrival, the rescue team tied ropes around the calf and hoisted in out from the septic tank.

After an inspection, the calf was deemed in a healthy condition.

A calf fell into the newly built septic tank a few days ago. It mooed for help but none turned to rescue it. Then a group of children went there for playing they heard some continous cries. They went near the septic tank pit and to their surprise they saw a calf inside the tank.

They immediately informed their parents and they called the fire and rescue team. Rescue team rushed to the spot and tied ropes around its hip and airlifted the calf.

It was looking so lean as it didn't eat for days together. Once it was pulled out it was checked for injuries then it walked steadily after.
