Spectators start streaming into Cape Town Formula E race

Cape Town, 25 February 2023 - Spectators have started streaming into the area around Cape Town stadium for the Formula E Race. More than 25000 spectators are expected to watch the six electric vehicle racing teams compete through the streets of Cape Town.

Yasser Samaai, a huge racing fan is attending the race with his son. Samaai is a full on racing said and F1 fanatic. He said “ I can’t wait for the Formula 1 season to start next weekend. You know we follow Ferrari in Formula 1. We don’t know so much about Formula E but we’re her to learn and we’ll find out who our favourites are here.”

Realeboha Kao, a teenager who is attending the race with his father and brother said: “I came here because I’m a massive motorsport fan and given that this is one of the opportunities to find something like this in Africa I had to take it.”

The race takes place in the streets around the Cape Town Stadium and parts of Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard. Many fans have also come to see South African born Kevin Van Der Linde from the ABT team compete. The main race is expected to start at 4pm South African time.
