A man was taken on an unexpected flight by a large kite at the Mulan Grassland Scenic Area in Wuhan, Hubei province, China.

The video shows the man being lifted into the air by the kite and hovering above the ground. Spectators below are heard screaming and calling for help.

The incident occurred on April 25 during a kite-flying competition being held at the scenic area. According to reports, the strong wind was the cause of the man's sudden takeoff.

A group of about a dozen people rushed to the scene and managed to save the man by holding down the giant kite's string. The man was rescued without any injuries.

On April 26, the staff confirmed the incident and revealed that the man was likely a participant in the kite-flying contest.

The video was filmed and published with local media's permission.
