A massive landslide due to heavy rainfall halted traffic in southwestern China.

Video filmed in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province on June 18 shows mud and trees tumbling down a mountain, sending smoke into the air.

According to reports, persistent heavy rainfall led to a significant landslide near the Jiwa Tunnel, causing a complete halt in road traffic. The volume of the landslide was around 15,000 cubic metres.

Local transportation and traffic police departments reported that there were no casualties.

Traffic control measures have been implemented in the affected area. The road has yet to reopen, and it's unknown when it will be passable again, as the landslide continues to progress.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
