A funny video has emerged of a famous 'mad scientist' YouTuber causing a minor explosion and scaring his six-year-old son.

Jacob The Mad Scientist from Australia was filming an episode of Make Science Fun for his YouTube channel when something went wrong.

Jacob accidentally set off a explosion of Touch Powder, otherwise known as pixie dust, which is made from ammonia and iodine and is an extremely unstable material which explodes into a big puff of purple gas when lightly touched.

Fortunately, neither Jacob or his son Samuel were injured, but Samuel was a little upset.

While filming an episode for his 'Make Science Fun' YouTube Chanel with his 6 year old son Samuel, something goes wrong.
In this newly released footage, Jacob accidentally sets off a large explosion of 'Touch Powder' or 'Pixie Dust' as it is sometimes known. The touch powder is made from ammonia and iodine and is an extremely unstable solid which explodes into a big puff of purple gas when lightly touched.
Thankfully these two Mad Scientist's were wearing their safety glasses because although the unexpected explosion was scary, neither Sam or Jacob were injured, just a little shook up and upset.
Jacob's son Samuel was NOT injured in this accident, just upset from the loud noise. He still begs to do 'Science' every afternoon after school.
