STORYLINE:

Head of Bloomberg Asia Pacific Li Bing has said that global investors have shown great interest in China's financial market, as the world's second-largest market has become unavoidable for them.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): LI BING, Head of Bloomberg Asia Pacific
"I can say quite confidently, global investors are still very much interested in China's market.
We surveyed the group. More than 50 percent of the audience in the room told us they are still optimistic or cautiously optimistic about China's market. Overall, I think it is a very positive message.
One fact you know, I think we can all agree on is, after the past many years of China's market opening up, I mentioned above, from 'stock connect' actually to 'bond connect,' to 'south bond connect,' to what we put forward a month ago the 'swap connect,' with all this development, with the index inclusion from 2018 onward, at this point China as the second-largest bond market in the world, it is already very much a market that global investors cannot avoid.
The size and depth of the market, and the fact that China's market is still one that's actively evolving, so it's a very large market becoming easier and easier to access.
From all those aspects, it is a very, very significant market, a large market, an evolving market, and a mature market. So all those elements added together provide a lot of sort of potential. So with that, we're also very optimistic.
We certainly see China as an unavoidable market. China is a very important market."

Li also said that the increasing level of communication and engagement, especially after the pandemic, will help global investors feel more optimistic and comfortable about the Chinese market.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): LI BING, Head of Bloomberg Asia Pacific
"At this point, obviously, we are in a post-pandemic environment after a few years of having difficulty communicating with each other. Right now, global investors are playing a catch-up game with the China's market at this point."
