Several vehicles were swept away by a river after continuous rains brought by Typhoon Doksuri saw a bridge collapse in Beijing.

Footage from July 31 a section of the Xiaoqing River Bridge had sunk into the water causing several cars to be swallowed by the swollen river.

Staff from Fengtai District flood control office stated that rescue workers have been continuously working on the scene.

According to Fengtai District officials, claimed that there were no motorists inside the cars that fell into the river. They are now attempting to contact the vehicles' owners.

The bridge has been closed at each end and an evacuation of the bridge has been completed.

Eleven people have been killed in Beijing as relentless downpours stretched to a fourth day in the city.

31日晚，北京丰台区防汛办值班人员称，一直有工作人员在进行救援工作，至于小清河桥上被冲走的车辆里是否有人，以及伤亡情况，他们暂时无法给出确切的答复。
据北京丰台区宣传部消息，经初步核实，小清河桥桥体坍塌造成停在桥上的五辆汽车落水。经现场走访，初步判断不涉及人员落水情况，现相关部门正在查找车主，进一步核实相关情况。目前桥两端已进行封锁，事故发生时滞留在桥上的车辆已经完成人员疏散。

On July 31, continuous heavy rain in Beijing led to a sharp rise in the water level of the Yongding River, causing a flood that resulted in a partial collapse of the Xiaoqing River Bridge in the Fengtai District. Some vehicles were swept into the floodwaters. On-site videos show a section of the bridge collapsing in the middle, with multiple cars being washed away by the water flow, and several cars parked on the bridge.

On the evening of the 31st, duty staff from the Fengtai District flood control office stated that rescue workers have been continuously working at the scene. As for whether there were people inside the cars that were swept away by the floodwaters, and information regarding casualties, they were temporarily unable to provide a definite answer.

According to the Fengtai District Propaganda Department, after preliminary verification, the collapse of the Xiaoqing River Bridge resulted in five cars that were parked on the bridge falling into the water. After visiting the scene, it was initially judged that there were no persons involved in the falling into the water, and the relevant departments are now looking for the car owners to further verify the situation. The bridge is currently closed at both ends, and the evacuation of people from the vehicles stranded on the bridge at the time of the accident has been completed.
