Typhoon Doksuri: Vehicles swept away by river as bridge collapses in Beijing

Several vehicles were swept away by a river after continuous rains brought by Typhoon Doksuri saw a bridge collapse in Beijing.

Footage from July 31 a section of the Xiaoqing River Bridge had sunk into the water causing several cars to be swallowed by the swollen river.

Staff from Fengtai District flood control office stated that rescue workers have been continuously working on the scene.

According to Fengtai District officials, claimed that there were no motorists inside the cars that fell into the river. They are now attempting to contact the vehicles' owners.

The bridge has been closed at each end and an evacuation of the bridge has been completed.

Eleven people have been killed in Beijing as relentless downpours stretched to a fourth day in the city.
