A cute video has emerged from Australia of a young girl catching an eel with a toy fishing rod made of plastic.

The video, filmed this week in New South Wales, shows Nine-year-old Mikalah catching the eel "in a small dam at the bottom of her family's property."

The filmer later wrote online: "While catching the eel, Mikalah's seven-year-old brother Sam is commentating and humming the theme to 'Jaws'.

"The eel was later released, but the family has smoked and eaten eels from the dam in the past."
