Sudden bus driver collapse leads to multiple-car collision in Beijing
A public bus in Beijing crashed into multiple vehicles after its driver lost consciousness at the wheel on December 26th.
According to a statement from the Beijing Public Transport Group, as bus route 368 was traveling along the southern section of Princess Tomb Bridge, the driver suddenly lost consciousness, prompting immediate action from the bus conductor to apply the brakes and bring the vehicle to a stop.
Footage shows the bus veering across the median and colliding with oncoming traffic, involving multiple vehicles before coming to a halt.
In the collision with vehicles from the opposite lane, two individuals on the bus sustained minor injuries. No injuries were reported among occupants of the other vehicles. Both the driver and the injured passengers have been promptly transported to medical facilities. Road traffic has been restored to normal after a while.
