A manhole explosion sent a boy flying into the air after he threw a firecracker inside in southern China.

Terrifying CCTV footage filmed in the city of Bazhong in Sichuan Province on February 8, shows a boy throwing firecrackers into a manhole cover, resulting in an explosion that forcefully ejected more than a dozen covers into the air.

The boy, unfortunately, was caught in the blast and was seen lying on the ground, unable to get up, a direct victim of the unintended havoc he had wrought.

A kind-hearted bystander picked up the injured child and placed him at a safer spot by the roadside before ensuring he was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.

A community worker from the area spoke out in the afternoon of the same day, that the boy had been rushed to the hospital for treatment but was thankfully not in any life-threatening condition.

8日下午，事发地社区一名工作人员表示，小男孩已经送医院去治疗，没有生命危险，没什么大事。
