Heroic Chinese officer's quick action nabs fraudsters in elevator showdown
A police officer's quick action nabbed two fraudsters in an elevator showdown in eastern China.
The CCTV footage was filmed in Jiaxing City in Zhejiang Province on March 12.
Local police received a report of a telecom fraud. The alert officers quickly zeroed in on two suspects, who, clad in black and faces hidden behind knit hats and masks, thought they had outsmarted the law. Boasting about their "clever" disguises, they believed they were untouchable.
However, their confidence was short-lived. As they were about to leave their hideout, the elevator doors opened to reveal a woman in black, who with a sharp glance, identified them instantly. "Police! Don't move! Get down!" she commanded with an authoritative presence that left the suspects petrified and quickly subdued.
This formidable woman was Shen Chaoyi, a video operator from the Xinxing Police Station, who, along with her team, had tracked the suspects to their lair. Utilising her seven years of experience and eagle-eyed skills, Shen's timely encounter in the elevator led to the swift arrest of the duo, showcasing her remarkable ability to spot the culprits in a split second.
The suspects are now under criminal detention as the investigation continues.
