Prince Charles has tested positive for the coronavirus, his royal office said on Wednesday (March 25).

In a statement released this morning, Clarence House said the 71-year-old is displaying mild symptoms.

The Prince of Wales visited Grasmere in the Lake District today, three months after he visited flood hit communities in the county following Storm Desmond.

The Prince travelled from Keswick to Grasmere along the A591 & surveyed the repair work being carried out by Highways England. He was greeted in Grasmere by villagers & visitors and all the children from Grasmere CofE school.

After making some Grasmere Gingebread, Prince Charles, who is the Patron of the Wordsworth Trust met with Michael McGregor, director of the Trust at William Wordsworths Grave in the Grasmere church grounds.

Following this he went into the church & looked at the Art work installation that the School children had made, in response the refugee crisis.

The visit was warmly welcomed by Grasmere, which has been quiet since the A591 was damaged by the storms.
