Footage of the A591 road re-opening in Cumbria, UK after being out of action for five whole months following major flood damage.

Large chunks of the road, which links Grasmere and Keswick in the Lake District, were washed away during Storm Desmond in December last year. Since then, motorists have had to use alternative routes.

According to the filmer, "the cost to businesses of the road being closed was estimated at around £1 million GBP per day."

This video shows a speeded up short trip down the length of the new section of the rebuilt road.
