The Bishop of Penrith opens Pooley Bridge
Storm Desmond washed away one of Cumbria's iconic stone bridges at the head of Ullswater, Pooley Bridge The remnants of the bridge were removed from the river mouth, and a temporary bridge was erected in it's place.
The opening of the temporary replacement bridge is one of the key milestones in re-building Cumbria's infrastructure. Re-connecting communities cut off from each other by the river.
