A runaway cow was shot dead by police after it attacked a woman on a scooter in eastern China's Taihe county on August 28.

The video shows an around 500-kilogram cow running on a busy road suddenly attacking a scooter rider and knocking her down onto the ground.

Since the cow damaged several vehicles and injured two people, the police and the owner could not control the animal after having tried several times.

Finally, the police used six police vehicles to drive the cow to the side of the road where an officer put it down.

According to the cow's owner, the cow ran away when he was about to sell it.

Two injured people were sent to hospital and they only suffered minor injuries.

8月28日下午16时许，安徽太和县公安局巡逻防暴大队接110指令称，在太和县人民路上有一只疯牛正在狂奔，还对行人和车辆进行攻击。
该疯牛体格硕大，体长两米有余，目测有1000多斤。不时在主干道和辅路狂奔，情绪狂躁，不时的对周围群众进行攻击，并对路两旁停放的车辆进行破坏，现场群众称疯牛已造成两名群众不同程度轻微受伤。
民警和牛主人几经努力，也无法将其控制。因为现场已经形成拥堵，不少群众进行围观，下班高峰期即将来临，为了群众的生命财产安全，处置民警立即指令队员对围观群众和车辆进行疏散，并使用特警车辆挡在牛和人群之间，形成隔离带。民警征得牛主人同意后，果断下达击毙命令。随后，按照既定方案处置民警使用六辆特警车辆，将疯牛逐步围堵到人民路和镜湖路交叉口一辅道内，并寻找有利时机将疯牛击毙。

经事后了解，该疯牛是从文明路一生牛屠宰场受到惊吓跑出，然后有屠宰场工作人员在后面追赶。该疯牛受到惊吓后一路沿人民路由北向南狂奔。幸好民警将其击毙，也避免了造成其他群众受伤。目前，事件的后续处理工作已经移交相关部门处理。
