The most badass Diet Coke and liquid nitrogen ever. (Hint: It's all about Newton's third law of motion)
A science teacher in Australia carried out this very unique take on the whole Diet Coke and Mentos candy eruption reaction.
In this video, filmed at home near Sydney, Jacob Strickling from the YouTube channel Make Science Fun builds a rocket out of the fizzy drink and liquid nitrogen.
He explained how it works online: "Instead of adding Mentos to the Diet Coke, add some liquid nitrogen instead.
"Then quickly turn the bottle upside down and, Wooossssshhhhh!"
"As the liquid nitrogen boils and turns to a gas, the expanding gases force the Diet Coke out the bottom in a frothy high velocity eruption, which in turn makes the bottle take off like a rocket (Newton's Third Law)," he continued.
