Bizarre CCTV footage has emerged from China showing a driver losing money he had accidentally left on the roof of his car.

The video, captured in Nantong, Jiangsu Province last month, shows hundreds of notes flying onto the motorway.

Police later stopped to help the man recover most of his money, yet according to local reports a lot of it ended up in a nearby river.

The man had reportedly left his wallet on the roof of his car before driving off.

Footage has emerged of police helping a man recover the money losing on motorway in China.

The CCTV video, filmed in Nantong, Jiangsu Province in January, shows cash flying on the motorway and a red car passing by stopping to pick it up.

According to local news, a driver named Zhu forgot to take his wallet down from the car roof and drove onto motorway.

Thus, around 1100 GBP cash flied into the air from his opening wallet.

Although some of the cash dropped into the river, police still helped him recover 700 GBP picked up by other drivers.
