An amusing video has emerged showing a man's ingenious method for switching his bedroom light off from bed.

The footage shows Australian science teacher Jacob Strickling using a toy gun to fire at a target, which causes a chain reaction ending in the light being switched off.

Using a plastic toy dinosaur, mouse trap, length of timber, coke can, string and Buzz Lightyear, Jacob makes a clever device that is triggered by a Nerd bullet. When it's time to sleep, simply shoot the dinosaur wing which has been screwed to the moustrap. This pulls a pin from Buzz's feet, releasing him so that he xan fly through the air and turn off the light switch.
