Unique Royal Train Wagon in public for first time - Greece:
A unique railway wagon of great historical value, a Greek Royal train wagon presented for first to the public. It is a royal wagon built in 1883, with rich artistic decoration, mosaic floor, painted and carved partitions of the apartments, luxury furniture and ornate metal railings, used by the royal family of Greece on the lines Larissa-Volos and Volos-Kalambaka from the time of King George I and onwards. It is also characteristic of its exterior, with the dark blue color and the royal emblem with the figures of Hercules. The interior of the royal carriage is divided into three compartments, most notably the Saloon, in the center of the vehicle for more comfort. With its luxurious sofas and its matching armchairs, it's the one with the largest side windows. At both ends of the body are the smoke and the toilet, in a separate compartment of which is the toilet. Finally, at the two ends of the vehicle are the balconies - the open except the covered piece that is essentially the entrance.
The Royal Wagon of the former Railways of Thessaly (TE) was constructed by the company "La Metallurgique Ateliers de Nivelles Belgique". The Belgian company had undertaken to supply the metallurgical mesh network (1000 mm) with the required rolling stock (passenger and commercial wagons).
