ARCHIVE: Dramatic footage of former Eastenders actor Paul Nicholls being rescued on a stretcher after spending two nights stranded and injured on a waterfall in Koh Samui, Thailand.

The former Eastenders actor, 38, plunged down the treacherous Khun Si waterfall while clambering across the wet rocks on July 10.

He smashed his knee cap and suffered injured ribs in the fall at the remote location, spending two nights in agony and fearing for his life. He had to drink water from the stream to stay alive in the humid temperatures.

A hotel owner who rented Paul a motorbike became worried when he didn't return and alerted authorities who found him at the waterfall and carried him back up the hill for treatment at the Koh Samui hospital. He returned home on July 26.
