Gino D'Acampo cooks up a storm at double-decker bus naming 2017

Celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo unveiled an Arriva double-decker bus named after himself when he switched on the Christmas lights at a Hertfordshire town on Saturday, November 25, 2015.

Gino first warmed himself up at top flight Cannon Travel
Agency in the High Street and happily posed for selfies, chatting to local traders and townspeople, before venturing out to the festivities.

He told thousands of adoring fans at Hoddesdon that although he had lived in England for the past 21 years he had never been aboard a bus before.

The biggest Italian community in the UK live in and around Hoddesdon - descendents of the Prisoners of War who had been held in a nearby POW camp, but decided to settle here when peace returned.

Guest honour Gino had been invited to switch on the Christmas lights and was surprised to be asked to unveil a name given to an Arriva double-decker bus.

He told his adoring fans that it never entered his head that he would unveil his own name painted on the the side of the bus.

Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo later switched on the Christmas tree lights in Hoddesdon.

The TV personality, who won I’m a Celebrity in 2009, took in the Hoddesdon Loves Christmas event in the town centre on Saturday, November 25.

The star, who was once rumoured to be opening a restaurant in the town,took to the stage after a day-long programme of entertainment.
