A woman miraculously escapes death after being run over TWICE by the same car in eastern China.

In the CCTV footage, captured in Lianyungang City in Jiangsu Province on December 27, 2017, a woman crosses the road on a zebra line is knocked down by an electric car turning a corner and becomes trapped underneath it.

The driver and other passengers lift the car up together to free the woman.

However, the car suddenly moves forward to run over the woman AGAIN after she has just been rescued.

Local reports speculated that the cause might be because the driver's granddaughter in the car made it go by mistake or that the brakes were broken.

The car only came to a standstill when it bumped into guardrails at the side of the road.

Fortunately, the woman was not injured severely.
