Qatar Airways Inaugural Landing at Cardiff Airport, New Service Connecting Wales to the World
Today, 1st May 2018, Qatar Airways launched their new service between Cardiff and Doha. Here you can see the very first landing at Cardiff Airport, including a beautiful water cannon salute and some close up shots.
Qatar Airways celebrated their brand new route between South Wales and the Gulf in style today, arranging a gorgeous water cannon salute as well as sending their brand new Airbus A350-900 (A7-ALU, delivered on the 25th April 2018) as a one off. After today, Qatar will operate this route daily using the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
This new service is fantastic news for Cardiff Airport, Wales and aviation in the West country as a whole, with cheap fares via Doha to hundreds of destinations worldwide now available right on people's doorsteps.
In this video you'll see the very first landing of this new service, the aircraft taxying to stand, being greeted with a water cannon salute as well as some close up shots from the north of the airport.
