A vigilant motorcyclist casually stops next to a taxi driver and puts out his cigarette after smoking was banned in public places.

Vinnie Ming spotted the cabbie lighting up and followed him along the road in Malabon City, Philippines, on April 25.

He stopped next to the driver's window and plucked the lit cigarette from his fingers and threw it on the ground.

Smoking in public places – including in taxis and buses – was banned last May by hardline leader President Rodrigo Duterte.

Vinnie said: ''I've been in the back of taxis before while people are smoking and it's not nice. Plus now it's illegal. People should not be doing it.''
