Heavy rains continue to ravage Mumbai as death toll climbs to 35
Locals trudged through the waterlogged streets of Mumbai on July 10 as severe rains continued to batter the city.
This video, shared to Facebook, shows a flooded street near the Vasai West railway station.
The downpour caused delays and shutdowns of bus and train services as well as school closures city-wide, among other disruptions.
Media reported that the death toll this monsoon season has risen to 35, with 19 deaths due to drowning and six due to tree collapses. On Sunday, two people died in a landslide in the suburb of Vikhroli.
Authorities forecast more rains for the city in the next few days.
