Indian villagers were left were left startled after they witnessed ‘’fish rain’’, a rare meteorological phenomenon, as cyclone Phethai made landfall in Andhra Pradesh in South India.

Footage captured on December 17 shows fish scattered on the ground.

The rare phenomenon occurs when strong winds of storms like Phethai carry displaced fish from the water bodies and drop it on land.

Cyclone Phethai left at least one dead and forced thousands to evacuate.
